Please check you have a Mini Second Gen before proceeding. This Mini has a rubber flap covering the charging port and power switch. If you have a Mini 1st Gen, please refer to the relevant article. The SafeTag Mini 2nd Gen looks like this:

Firstly, please make sure you have followed all steps in your product setup and activation guide carefully.

This means your tracker hasn't booted up yet, or it is unable to establish a network connection.

Could you please follow the following steps?

1. Please ensure that the device has been allowed to charge for at least 2 hours using the supplied cable.

2. If the device is currently in a vehicle, it may have had its signal blocked, please ensure that the device is in an open space, moving the device may yield better results.

3. If you purchased your tracker before January 2026, it will have a SIM card slot under the flap, please ensure that the SIM is correctly seated. If you tracker does not have a SIM card slot, please ignore this step, this is because our trackers now use digital SIM cards (eSIM).

4. Please ensure that the tracker is switched On, using the switch under the rubber flap.

5. Please ensure that you are in an area where there is 4G or 2G signal, so that the device can establish a network connection.

If all above steps fail, please keep your tracker subscription active and get in touch with us. We will be able to get your tracker up and running in no time at all.
