There are quite a lot of notification settings that could block notifications on Android, so please follow the following guide carefully and let us know if you get stuck or if it doesn't fix the issue.
1. Check App Notification Permissions
- Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > SafeTag > Notifications.
- Ensure notifications are turned on and review your preferred alert style (e.g., sound, vibration).
2. Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to access Quick Settings.
- Make sure Do Not Disturb isn’t enabled. If it is, either disable it or allow the app to bypass DND by going to Settings > Sound > Do Not Disturb > Apps > Add SafeTag
3. Battery Optimization
- Go to Settings > Battery and check if the app is listed under Battery Optimization.
- Disable battery optimization for the app if it’s enabled by navigating to Battery > Battery Optimization > SafeTag > Don’t Optimize.
4. Log Out and Back In
- Log out of your account in the app, then log back in to refresh your notification settings.
5. Check Quiet Hours Schedule
- Open the app, go to the More tab, and navigate to Alert Settings.
- Ensure that you don’t have any Quiet Shares scheduled during the time you are expecting alerts.
6. App Updates
- Ensure both your Android system and the app are updated to the latest versions. You can check for updates in the Play Store and your phone’s System Settings > System > Software Update.
7. Background Data
- Ensure the app has permission to run in the background. Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > SafeTag> Data Usage, and confirm that Background Data is enabled.
8. Network Connection
- Confirm that your Wi-Fi or cellular connection is active. Notification delivery may fail without internet access.
9. Restart Your Device
- Restarting your phone can resolve many minor issues, including notification delays or failures.
10. Reinstall the App
- If none of the steps work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to reset its notification settings.
By using the Test Alert feature in the app's More > Alert Settings, you can immediately check if notifications are being delivered after troubleshooting.
If all the above steps fail, please let us know and we'll get it resolved for you. It's usually a quick fix!
