What is a Geofence, and how do I create them?

A geofence is a geographical area on the map that you set. It has a centre point, and a size showing the radius of this area.

These can be around your home, work, or commonly used car park or work yard.

This means your tracker can send you notifications when it leaves or enters this zone, perhaps with a radius of 0.3-0.5km to get notice when a vehicle enters or is approaching a property.

The outside status means your tracker is beyond the limits of the geofence, or in other words, the tracker is further away from the centre of the geofence than the size of the geofence that you set.

Setting it up on the Web App
On the left hand side, of the Live Tracking page navigate to your tracker, press the settings cog, this will bring up a menu, then press "set" next to Geofence, drag the centre around, set a distance then press save and close.

You can then use the tick boxes to select geofences you'd like to receive alerts on for this tracker, or create your first geofence if you haven't got any set up yet.

To manage your geofences, go to the Geofences page under "Tracking"

Setting it up on the Mobile App
Press the central red button in the middle of the bottom of the screen to bring up your list of trackers, press the settings cog on the tracker that you want to edit, then press the set geofences button.

You can create geofence by going to "More" > "Manage Geofences"

You can then use the tick boxes to select geofences you'd like to receive alerts on for this tracker, or create your first geofence if you haven't got any set up yet.

Please note, a maximum of 10 geofences can be created. If you have a specific use case and over 10 trackers, please get in touch to raise this limit.
