Our rechargeable trackers upload their location information every 30-40 seconds to our servers, which would present as the green dots. With the tracker only reporting back every 30-40 seconds, it isn't able to pick up if you've gone around a corner so it joins the dots up after it has uploaded this information to our servers, with red lines to show the route taken joined between the dots.
This is standard across the industry as this extends the battery life so you don't have to charge it so often.
Unfortunately, only our wired trackers show what is called 'Cornering', this would mean that your tracker uploads more frequently than our standard 30-40 seconds, so it would more closely follow your route.
If you would like your tracker to follow your route more directly, we would recommend that you return your Mag tracker and purchase one of our 'Wired' trackers.
